Wrexham-based GHA Coaches has added two Optare Metrocitys and four Solos to its ranks as part of the company’s ongoing fleet replacement programme.
The 9m long Euro 5 slim-line Solo SR can seat up to 31 passengers and will mainly be used on the company’s network in Cheshire, whilst the 10.8m Metrocitys – with a maximum capacity of 44 will run between Northwich and Warrington on service number 45.
Stephen Bryce, General Manager at GHA Coaches, said: “We already operate a large Optare Solo and Versa fleet which these vehicles will join. We are always looking for ways to enhance our service and show our customers that the bus is not just a boring alternative to the car and these vehicles have been built to a high specification with environmentally-sourced leather seats and headrests, laminate-effect flooring, audio and visual next-stop announcements, free WiFi and CCTV.
“The styling and the manoeuvrability of the relatively new MetroCity product was particularly appealing to us and we are very eager to see how this new type of vehicle to our fleet performs alongside established products on the market.”
Steph Baker, Regional Sales Manager at Optare, said: “We are delighted to be supplying these high specification slim line Solos to GHA Coaches and also to receive an order for a further two Optare MetroCity buses due for delivery this Spring.”
