GERMANY

A new ‘hop on, hop off’ open top bus tour has started running in Stuttgart – which will operate all year round

Managed by Stuttgart- Marketing, the service is operated by Willms-Travel- Tourism. According to Omnibus Revue, the privately-owned firm runs sightseeing tours in several German cities.

Convertible MAN doubledecker buses are being used on the service for the first weeks. By late summer however, they are to be replaced with Mercedes-Benz double-deckers.

Lasting 100 minutes, the tour starts and ends at the Tourist Information Centre (TIC), opposite the city’s main railway station. It takes in nine stops, including the Palace Square, the Mercedes-Benz Museum, the Pig Museum and Weissenhof Museum. Commentary is available in nine languages. Younger passengers are catered for with a dedicated children’s channel.

The trip costs €15 per adult for a 24 hour period, which includes two accompanied children up to 14 years of age.

Tickets are available at the Stuttgart-Marketing GmbH at the TIC on King Street 1a or at the Tourist Information Airport (Level 2, Terminal 3). They can also be bought online from www. stuttgart-citytour.de – in addition to on the bus.
