Women in Bus & Coach has announced its inaugural awards ceremony, which will be held as part of its annual summit in Manchester in October. This event aims to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions and achievements of women within the bus, coach, and community transport industry. The awards will feature four categories, namely ‘Best Woman in Bus,’ sponsored by Backhouse Jones Solicitors, ‘Best Woman in Coach,’ sponsored by IntSol Recruitment, ‘Best Woman in Community Transport,’ sponsored by Dawsongroup Bus & Coach, and ‘the Peter, Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill Best Ally Award’ sponsored by the Go-Ahead Group.
In addition, one winner will be chosen to receive the Woman of the Year title, sponsored by MCV Bus and Coach.
“We are incredibly excited to host our first awards and to shine a spotlight on the remarkable women who drive our industry forward,” said Women in Bus & Coach Chair Louise Cheeseman. “These awards not only recognise individual achievements but also highlight the importance of diversity and inclusion within the transport sector.”
Women in Bus & Coach Director Kerri Cheek added: “Women in Bus & Coach is committed to fostering a supportive and empowering environment for women in our industry. This awards ceremony is a significant step towards acknowledging and celebrating the vital contributions that women make every day.”
