Reading Buses’ Kennections app is being re-branded, the operator has announced. From Monday 21 September users of the app will see a different name when they update their app, that of Newbury & District.

The change to the app is the last piece of the jigsaw which has seen Newbury & District take over the full running of the Kennections routes which it first began operating in early 2020. This change sees all services in the Newbury area collected into one place.

Newbury & District says the Kennections app, which has been in operation since 2016, is extremely popular with its customers over a wide area.

Dave Fulford, Operations Manager at Newbury & District, said: “This is great news for our customers as we now finally consolidate everything into one place and under one name. The app allows customers to plan their journey, check their timetables and buy tickets on their phone in advance.

“There’s also the great live times feature which shows when the bus is due at your stop, as well as the most popular feature – track my bus – which shows your bus on a live map so you know exactly where it is and don’t have to wait for ages for the bus to show.

“Customers who already have the app don’t need to worry, simply update your app and everything – your account, tickets and favourites – transfers over. You don’t need to download a new app.”
