The final pair of images from Ray’s selection takes us to Southampton, where Solent Blue Line Bristol SDL 639J is in the same spot as its modern day successor, Bluestar’s Enviro400 HJ63 JHV. Taken in August 1987 and September 2023 respectively, both vehicles are heading to the same destination, Woolston, the former on route 70 at a time when Solent Blue Line was upping its competition against the city’s incumbent operator, whilst the latter is on route 17.
