Image 9 Docklands March 1984 RAY WARD (Large)
A reminder of First’s previous venture into London here with two images, both of which are now historic. Marshall-bodied Dennis Dart LN51 DVV is seen on route D8 heading towards Stratford in August 2011, whilst Ray explains that the March 1984 image shows a Docklands Clipper-branded Leyland National, a service which had only just started at the time of the photograph.
Despite appearances, Ray says he made sure that the location was the same before returning for his 2011 picture, which shows how much London’s Docklands area had changed in the intervening 27 years. RAY WARD
