Gordon Price of Cotheridge, Worcester-based Elgar Coaches sadly passed away peacefully at Hereford County Hospital on Sunday, March 4.

Gordon and his partner, Janet Portlock, were celebrating 20 years of business, offering coach hire for private groups, school contracts, holidays and day trips.

Gordon spent most of his life in the coach industry, working for companies including Everton’s Coaches, Morris Coaches, Swan Street Coaches, DRM and KCS Tours before starting a partnership with Janet and forming Elgar Coaches.

Gordon was described as a family man who also had a love of motorbikes – ‘with enough of his own to open a museum.’

Janet, with the help of son Nick and employees, will continue to run the business.

In a statement, the operator said that Gordon was always helping everyone, and will be sadly missed by family, friends and colleagues.

His funeral will take place at Hereford Crematorium on Saturday, March 17 at 1000hrs.
