Keith Dyball, Stagecoach Midlands’ highly respected and well liked Engineering Director, passed away on April 27 after a year-long battle with cancer. Keith was 64.

Keith began his career in the armed forces and spent 13 years in the army serving in Malaya and West Germany. During that time he rose from an apprentice vehicle mechanic to the role of Technical Instructor. In 1977 he joined Geest Industries as Workshop Manager responsible for the firm’s HGV, van and car fleet, but left to join the bus industry as Chief Engineer of Midland Fox Limited in 1988.

In 1997 Keith joined Stagecoach as Engineering Director at Burnley and Pendle and he was then promoted to the position of Engineering Director at Stagecoach East Kent in 1999, where he spent seven successful years. Keith’s talent and commitment was further recognised with a move to the role of Engineering Director at Stagecoach East (now Stagecoach Midlands) in 2006.

Keith is survived by his wife Marion, daughters Donna and Michelle and four grandchildren.
