Passengers get More with new buses on service 13

Go-Ahead Group owned Morebus is continuing its investment in new transport by introducing five brand new double-decker buses to its route 13 Bournemouth to Wimborne service in Dorset.

The announcement follows the introduction of a fleet of 41 single decker buses for the operator’s M1 and M2 routes – and underlines Morebus’ commitment to running the latest new bus technology across the region and encouraging people to choose a more sustainable way to travel.

“Bus travel in Dorset is popular – and I’m delighted that we have been able to invest £8 million in our Morebus fleet during recent years,” said Morebus Managing Director, Andrew Wickham.

“We would not have been able to embark on this commercial venture if it weren’t for the high demand we’ve been experiencing here – so it’s a tremendous sign that people in the region value our services.

“These new British-built ADL Enviro400 City double-deckers will give our customers extra space in which to work or to chill out. They are also equipped with USB chargers for smart devices, along with contactless ticketing for extra convenience.

“Just as important are the low emissions Euro VI engines, which are kinder to the environment than those found in the very latest diesel cars.

“Our aim is to make bus travel even more attractive to those living and working in Dorset, encouraging them to leave their cars at home. We are already seeing an increase in the number of passenger journeys in the region, and these new buses will hopefully play a part in helping reduce congestion in Bournemouth.”
