Pegasus A myth, or a legend in the making?

Following the success of its Super9 midicoach, Harris Auto has launched its first full size 55-seat Higer coach, the Pegasus. Jonathan Welch put it to the test

Pegasus: A mythological creature, described as a pure white stallion with wings, who from birth to death remained a mysterious creature, capable of everything. Whilst I’m sure Harris Auto would say that nothing more needs to be said about the latest Higer coach, it would make for a rather short article, so let us take a closer look at this latest Chinese entrant into the full size coach market.

Certainly, it is no myth. At the time of CBW’s visit in late 2019, one Higer Pegasus was being readied for delivery to a customer, whilst the second was undergoing final preparation to Hannon’s specifications. The Higer is a mid-range coach aimed at everyday work, contracts, shorter tours and private hires, and initial impressions were good: The coach has presence, and looks neat and tidy. There are some neat design touches, such as the chrome surrounds to the headlights and silver ‘flash’ dividing the window line from the bodywork towards the front, which give an element of style and modernity without being overly ostentatious. The rear too is neat and tidy, with stylish lights and plenty of space for operator branding. It is neither excessively bland, nor overly-styled. […]
