Do you have an empty driving seat? DrivenPeople says it can help, offering better rates and more satisfaction than traditional driver agencies. JONATHAN WELCH

Jonathan Welch speaks to Matthew Mould, Sales Director at driver agency with a difference DrivenPeople, to find out what the company has to offer

We’ve all been there. Coaches in the yard, and no one left to drive them. No-one’s available to do any overtime, and you’ve had to turn away that extra weekend job. The wheels are standing still, not out earning money.

If only you had an extra driver. But we’ve all heard horror stories on the industry grapevine about agency drivers, and I’m sure some readers will have had poor experiences.

DrivenPeople is a young company which is looking to change that, with a philosophy to be better, and one which is born out of its own difficulties in sourcing drivers. The company says it is ‘transforming how drivers find work nationwide’ and ‘guarantees fair wages, efficient processes, and unparalleled satisfaction’ whilst connecting users with ‘opportunities that pay well and respect their time and driving passion.’

So far, across all sectors, the company claims to have over 10,000 drivers on its waiting list, and 30 ‘top HGV and PSV operators signed up,’ having secured some £2m in seed funding to build and launch its app. According to its website, the company is underpinned by ‘a seasoned team with over 50 years of collective experience in the transportation industry, dedicated to revolutionising mobility.’ From enhancing bus services to creating innovative mobility apps, the company says it has tackled numerous challenges in transport and is excited to bring its expertise to the recruitment industry.

To find out more about what’s behind these compelling claims, I caught up with Sales Director and Head of Business Development Matthew Mould to hear about the background to the company, and why it believes it can set itself apart from the rest and offer a truly unique service to the PSV and HGV industries. Matthew is joined at the top table by CEO Dan Mould, COO Charlie Crawford, and Operations Manager Sam Hunt.
