Passenger Lift Solutions (PLS) was named ‘Engineering Innovator of the Year’ at the recent Innovation Awards ceremony held in Birmingham. The company was recognised for its commitment to pioneering innovation and addressing real-world challenges within the passenger lift industry.

PLS’s success in winning the award was attributed to the progress the company has made in the past 12 months, including the launch of two new products, the Motus-Lift and EA-Lift, which showcase the firm’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and addressing the evolving needs of the transport industry. The company has introduced modular technology and hybrid materials such as bio-plastics, helping to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the industry.

The firm says its Motus-Lift sets new standards with a weight reduction of over 20%, dual-axis movement and a damped bridging plate. The EA-Lift has been designed to streamline maintenance through its use of modular components and to enhance stability using reinforced bracing. “We are honoured to be named Engineering Innovator of the Year,” said Managing Director Adam Beck. “This award validates our team’s hard work and dedication to designing industry-leading solutions that make transportation more inclusive. We remain steadfast in our commitment to sustainable engineering, always working towards innovative solutions that enhance accessibility for all while contributing to a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future.”

The judges commended PLS for its achievements in embedding innovation into the core of the organisation and noted that PLS has not only introduced lighter and more sustainable solutions to its customers but has done so by leveraging new materials and embracing a wider scope of innovation.
