FRANCE PostBus France has won a new contract in Sète, part of the Thau conurbation in the Languedoc-Roussillion region. The latest success reflects the company’s substantial growth in the country where it now employs more than 1,000 staff.

The new seven-year contract starts on September 1, 2015 and brings the number of urban transport networks in France operated by PostBus to nine, representing a combined turnover of 61m euros and bolstering the company’s expansion in the south of the country where it already operates the transport networks of Agde, Menton and Salon-de-Provence.

Nearly 100,000 inhabitants live in the eight municipalities that make up the Thau conurbation. The urban network comprises 12 routes plus two additional services and a dial-a-ride bus route to cater for the large fluctuations in passenger numbers that occur in this popular tourist area. The new contract will see the company take on a further 118 employees, 36 of whom will be new recruits.

PostBus says it sets itself apart by offering flexible transport services adapted to cater for increased passenger numbers during the busy summer period, and by providing a dynamic and innovative service, featuring 20 real-time information points at bus stops, online ticket purchase options and a new mobile app.
