Poynters Coaches of Wye in Kent has ceased trading.
A spokeswoman for Kent County Council told CBW that it was advised of the closure of the business approximately one week before the new school term. It has since stepped in to ensure the operators 10 school services are covered.
She explained: “We’ve brought in four operators to plug the gap – Stagecoach, Scotland & Bates, R&J Coaches and Carrs Coaches.
“While it’s costing us more money, we have ensured that no school children have been left without a service.”
CBW attempted to reach the operator before publication, but its phone lines were no longer open.
