The beginning of April saw many changes to bus services all over the country, following subsidy cuts from local councils.

One of these changes to services in the North West of England saw Rotala-owned Preston Bus take over the 280 / X80 from Transdev. Preston Bus has opted to run the service commercially after Transdev lost the subsidy for the service as part of the local government cuts.

The service runs as the 280 between Preston and Clitheroe and then becomes the X80 between Clitheroe and Skipton. It has so far seen Mercedes-Benz Citaro and Optare Versa buses in use.
