Oxfordshire-based Go-Ahead Group operator Pulhams Coaches has launched an enhanced bus service to help people travel to and from the region’s John Radcliff Hospital, and invested in new vehicles to operate it. The bus and coach operator has taken on the H2 service, previously operated by Stagecoach, with support from Oxfordshire County Council and improved the timetable.

It now provides an increased frequency of buses on the route, with services operating every 30 minutes between Witney, Eynsham, Summertown and the hospital on Mondays to Saturdays, plus four journeys in each direction on Sundays. The timetable has also been extended to provide additional early morning and late evening journeys to Carterton, whilst weekday journeys now also serve Oxford Brookes University’s Headington Campus.

Go-Ahead Area Director for Pulhams Alex Chutter said: “This is fantastic news for bus users and the communities on the route, and particularly those who need to visit the JR Hospital – whether for work, to visit loved ones or for medical appointments. Providing improved connectivity to the JR Hospital is a key area of focus for our business currently, and we’re proud to be able to be able to announce this latest improvement, which follows several recent improvements made by our colleagues at Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel. We are grateful to Oxfordshire County Council for its support to ensure we could take on and enhance this vital service for bus users.”
