As part of Stagecoach Manchester’s Green Week celebrations last week the operator has given local primary school children the opportunity to name one of its new double-deckers.

The 29 Euro 6 ADL Enviro 400s were part of a £5m investment by Stagecoach in the region last year and local children have been asked to name one of them after their favourite Mancunian personality, a famous landmark or something unique about the city.

Stagecoach Manchester’s Green Week is designed to raise awareness of green issues and environmental impact.

Stagecoach Manchester Operations Director, Matt Davies said: “For children, travelling by bus is a great adventure so we’re looking forward to hearing what they would like to name their local bus and their reasons for doing so.

“Our annual Green Week is a great opportunity for us to engage with our customers, and encourage more people to use the bus when they travel around Greater Manchester.”

The successful pupil will receive a £200 cash prize for their school, with the second and third place pupils earning £50 prizes for their respective schools. A £20 high street voucher will also be awarded to all of the top three ideas, with the winner’s school also receiving a special visit from the newly renamed bus.
