The challenges of keeping heritage buses moving are many. Future availability of fuel, legislative changes to the road-use of historic vehicles, as well as the availability of spares and suitably skilled drivers are all issues to be faced. After many years running in preservation, this 1966 Bristol Lodekka was permanently entombed within its namesake city’s M-Shed development in 2011, with a lack of spares for its Bristol-built BVW engine being cited as a major reason for its grounding.
