The Guild of British Coach Operators has announced that Reays Coaches of Cumbria has been accepted into the membership.
Guild Chairman Richard Grey said: “We are delighted to welcome another highly respected and successful operator into the Guild, lifting our membership to 24 companies, with a 25th soon to be announced.
“We look forward to Reays participating fully in the Guild’s activities as we continue to share best practice and showcase excellence in coach travel.”
Chris Reay, Managing Director of Reays, said: “This is a very proud day for me and, indeed, for Reays Coaches.
“My father started the family business running just a single minibus in 1980. It is hard to believe how far we have come. He would be amazed.
“To be accepted as a member of the Guild of British Coach Operators is literally a dream come true for me. It really is the pinnacle of the coach industry and I am genuinely delighted to have passed the Guild’s demanding audit.
“On a personal level, I am very excited to become a part of such an elite organisation. I am looking forward to making a positive contribution to the Guild in both an entrepreneurial and hands-on capacity.”
Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2015, the Guild promotes and markets the services of its members, all of whom commit to meeting the highest quality standards, assured by regular independent audits. Prospective members have to achieve a 100% pass before being accepted into the Guild.
The guild is also registered as a Driver CPC training centre, giving members access to a suite of courses specifically designed for the coach industry.
