Growing its portfolio, REL has acquired Felixstowe Travel, and appointed Daniel Butterfield as the new Group Managing Director for its coaching businesses
Sector Investor REL Capital has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Daniel Butterfield to oversee its group of coaching businesses as Group Managing Director. Dan has previously held senior management roles at the Go-Ahead Group, where he worked for 16 years including as Head of Operations, as well as undertaking turnaround roles in the UK and Singapore. Dan has worked his way up from driving buses and coaches, gaining experience in every aspect of the business.
REL says Dan has strengthened compliance within the group, after the management team were replaced at Essex based REL Davian after issues were highlighted at a recent Public Inquiry.
Separately REL has announced the purchase of majority shareholding in Felixstowe Travel, which will work closely with its existing Davian and Tendring Travel businesses to strengthen the company’s presence in the East of England. The management team, led by Alan Braybrooke, will remain in place working alongside other operator partners across the business and reporting to Dan Butterfield, says the company.
Dan commented: “I am very much looking forward to working with the management team, drivers and customers across the REL businesses. This is a fantastic opportunity for REL to increase its capability to offer sustainable travel opportunities through its range of long-standing and trusted coach brands within its portfolio. It is exciting to be part of this substantial growth and we will continue our determination to be best in class and an operator of choice.”
