Nottingham City Transport will be temporarily operating a replacement Medilink service between City Hospital, Wilkinson Street Park & Ride and the QMC Main Entrance from Monday 20 April.

This replacement service is provided with support and agreement from Nottingham City Council and the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and will be free to use by everyone.

Buses will run every 30 minutes between approx. 0545hrs and 1945hrs on weekdays.

Double deck buses will be used to give more space for people on board and the buses will have silver painted fronts, showing “Medilink” on the destination display.

Buses will serve all the usual Medilink stops between City Hospital and QMC Main Entrance:

  • City Hospital Campus – South Entrance, Green Entrance, Dundee House, Purple Car Park, Radiotherapy, Main Entrance, Day Surgery / Outpatients
  • City Hospital / Hucknall Road
  • Wilkinson Street Park and Ride and Tram Stop
  • Nuthall Road (to QMC) or Newlyn Drive (to City Hospital)
  • Bluecoat School
  • Chalfont Drive
  • The Crown
  • QMC Main Entrance (no other stops on campus served)

Buses will not serve Queens Drive Park & Ride Site due to low usage, with Wilkinson Street Park & Ride Site available as an alternative for Medilink customers.

David Astill, NCT’s Commercial and Operations Director said, “Our thoughts are with everyone at CT4N in these sad and difficult times and we send our best wishes to the team”. He continued, “This replacement Medilink service will ensure that NHS employees can continue to travel between the QMC and City Hospital, with the arrangement for free travel using NCT’s 17, 35, 36 and 89 available until the end of Friday 17 April to cover until the service starts”

Councillor Adele Williams, the City Council’s Portfolio Holder for Local Transport, said: “We know that Medilink is used by NHS staff to travel between the City Hospital and QMC during their working day. A big thank you to NCT for working with us to ensure we can continue to provide a transport service for our fantastic NHS workers in the city.”
