Having recently won a tender in Rome for 110 mild hybrid Urbino 18 buses, Polish manufacturer Solaris has won a further order for the delivery of 244 CNG buses city operator ATAC.
Both contracts also include servicing and maintenance, taking them to a combined value of up to €200 million for the firm.
The latest order calls for 244 Solaris Urbino 12 CNG buses powered by natural gas to be delivered to the Italian capital city in 2024 and 2025, with an option for another 78.
Solaris is not new to Rome, having delivered 30 trolleybuses to the operator in 2003-2004. The Polish company has now delivered over 1,800 vehicles to Italy, making it one of the company’s key markets.
