Dutch e-bus manufacturer Ebusco has received a new order from the Métropole Rouen Normandie for 15 Ebusco 3.0 18-metre buses, which will be deployed in the Rouen area from 2025. The new buses will be fitted with four double doors and a battery pack of over 500kWh to help them navigate the steep local roads and accommodate the anticipated large number of passengers on their intended routes.

The new buses will join four Ebusco 2.2 buses that are already in operation, and 85 3.0 buses that are due to be delivered. They will be used on Rouen’s TEOR rapid transit services, and are expected to be able to undertake a full day’s work without recharging.

An integrated optical guidance system will be fitted to assist the driver when approaching platforms, and the buses will be equipped with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which is designed to improve vehicle traction (acceleration, braking and steering) and driver and passenger safety.

Jean-Francois Chiron, Managing Director of Ebusco France Sales commented: “We are really delighted to continue our partnership with Metropole Rouen Normandie in its strategy of decarbonisation of urban transport. With our production facility in Cléon, we can provide innovative, zero-emission buses with local content.”
