Salford City Transport painted a couple of its Metro-Cammell bodied Daimler CVG6s in a reversed version of its green and cream livery to mark the Coronation in 1953. Seen here is FRJ 457, the only example to be fully bedecked. Salford bought 195 of these Daimlers from 1950-1952, and then there were no more orders for ten years. A significant number were still in service when SELNEC PTE was formed in 1969. In 1977, neighbouring Greater Manchester PTE outshopped this Northern Counties-bodied Leyland Atlantean (left) for the Silver Jubilee. MUSEUM OF TRANSPORT, GREATER MANCHESTER
