GERMANY

CaetanoBus has been selected as the supplier to deliver five 12m hydrogen buses to Düren in Germany by the first quarter of 2022. Rurtalbus was founded by the RATH Group and the Dürener Kreisbahn (DKB) in 2019, and is responsible for all public bus services in the Düren area. The operator recently confirmed its order of the hydrogen buses to fulfil its objective of modernising its fleet with zero emission buses.

“We are extremely honoured that our H2.City Gold buses were selected by Rurtalbus. We are very glad to support the operator towards a more environmentally friendly fleet and we look forward to deliver their first hydrogen buses,” said Nuno Carvalho, Sales & Business Development Director at CaetanoBus.

The H2.City Gold units will be equipped with Toyota fuel cell and are expected to offer a range over 400 kilometres. The low-floor vehicles will include several advanced driver assistance systems to support drivers and help improve road safety, and other features to maximize passengers’ comfort.

“We are looking forward to taking the road to a climate-neutral local public transport system in the district of Düren. We are quite certain of having found the fitting partner in CaetanoBus to put buses on the road in our district, which will meet the high expectation of our passengers as well as providing our employees with comfortable workplaces in modern climate-neutral buses,” said Nik Asbach, Managing Director at Rurtalbus.

The five hydrogen buses will join the 16 H2.City Golds already sold by Caetano in three different cities Germany.
