French manufacturer and vehicle refurbisher Safra has been designing, manufacturing and marketing hydrogen-fuelled electric buses since 2011 under the Businova brand and recently unveiled its latest HyCity model. Offered in a 12-metre format, the vehicle is currently available in
two- or three-door form.

The manufacturer says its new HyCity has a sleek design which ‘blends into the urban landscape, while its distinctive curves catch the eye’ and is aimed at the international as well as domestic market.

Based on the Businova, Safra says it has gained an additional 8% of interior space to offer even more comfort to passengers, whilst the driving position is described as practical and ergonomic. A rear vision system is fitted for added safety.

The bus uses a motorised axle and direct transmission, giving a reduction in weight and making it possible to provide a flat floor over the entire length of the vehicle. Safra claims a range of over 350km for the new model.
