Sanders of Holt has boosted its fleet with the acquisition of two Plaxton Elite-bodied Volvo B9Rs. CBW believes the pair are the first of their kind to be run by a Norfolk operator.
The vehicles, which have been acquired from Plaxton Coaches Sales at Anston, were previously run by Park’s of Hamilton.
The first coach, which is registered ‘PVF377’ has already arrived at Sanders, having been painted by Full Circle Enterprises. The other is currently in the process of being fitted with a PLS Magic Floor wheelchair lift at Anston, where it will also be painted.
Explaining the reasoning behind the purchase, Paul Sanders, Director, who runs the family business with his brother Charles, told CBW: “We wanted a coach which could be equipped with a wheelchair lift. The Elite was built to accept a lift at the front, so we were delighted when the opportunity arose.”
The new additions are replacing a wheelchair accessible Bova Futura and a 57-seater Dennis Javelin which has been sold to Suffolk Norse.
Established in 1975, Sanders runs a fleet of 55 buses and 32 coaches from depots in Holt and North Walsham, supplemented by an outstation in Fakenham.
