Scania UK has announced the appointment of a new Bus, Coach and Power Solutions Sales Director. Mark Oliver will take on the role and be responsible for leading the sales team for both business areas and building long-term customer relationships and partnerships. He comes with a wealth of sales and technical experience after joining Scania UK in 1995 as an Apprentice Instructor.

Mark has moved through the business, becoming Senior Technical Instructor and Technical and Training Manager at Scania UK’s training facility in Loughborough, before he was promoted to General Manager for Bus & Coach Fleet Sales in 2012.

Vincente Connolly, Executive Sales Director for Scania UK, said: “I’m delighted that Mark will be Scania UK’s new Bus, Coach and Power Solutions Sales Director. He is a hugely experienced leader and brings the best out of the teams that work with him. His broad sales and technical experience will stand him in good stead. As will his relationships with customers and our colleagues in Sweden. Altogether, it makes him the perfect fit for the role and I wish him every success.”

Mark commented: “After being at Scania UK for 27 years, it’s an honour to be appointed Sales Director, and to be given the opportunity to lead these two teams through the biggest transformation our industry has ever experienced. To be successful in this role requires three main things. Building customer relationships, trust and nurturing long-lasting partnerships. For me, a customer’s relationship is all about building trust and giving them customer peace of mind and reassurance that they’ve made the right decision. One that is right for today and also tomorrow.”

Mark replaces Martin West who left Scania UK in March after 21 years at the company.
