Scottish Citylink has launched a festive customer competition centred around its new ‘Christmas coach’ which hit the roads last week. The operator has wrapped one of its Plaxton Panorama coaches as a giant Christmas present and the vehicle will run on the 900 route between Edinburgh and Glasgow for the next six weeks.

Citylink is offering prizes via a social media competition inviting people to take a photo of the Christmas coach and post it on the company’s Twitter or Facebook pages using the hashtag #citylinkgifts. Prizes include high street vouchers, Apple AirPods and Christmas Hampers. The competition will run from now until 20 December.

The competition is being run to mark the fact that Scottish Citylink has returned to its pre-pandemic service levels this year following the easing of Coronavirus restrictions by the Scottish Government. The company will also be running coach services throughout the festive season once again this year, including on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

On 25 December, a limited hourly service will operate between Edinburgh and Glasgow and on 1 January, the company will run a limited services to a number of towns and cities across the country including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, Stirling, Kinross, Halbeath, Dundee, Aberdeen, Aviemore and Inverness.

Operations Director Simone Smith said: “We’re delighted to launch our Christmas coach which will spread some festive cheer before Christmas. We look forward to seeing photos of the coach on our social media channels and to handing out some great prizes to the winners.
“It’s been another challenging year for many, so it feels great to be back operating at pre-pandemic service levels and our coaches will be running throughout the whole festive season to help our customers visit their family and friends.”
