A Norfolk operator has been warned that although its second application for an O-licence has been granted, it must ensure full compliance with undertakings and regulations this time
Back in issue 1384, we carried the story of Matthew Wright, who, still in his 20s had enthusiasm aplenty for his newly-founded Norfolk-based coach company Wrights Coaches. That enthusiasm wasn’t enough, though, and adverse reports received from DVSA examiners led the company to a public inquiry in 2021, ultimately leading to the revocation of its O-licence.
Mr Wright has since sought a new operator’s licence for his PTS Group (Norfolk) business, trading as Wrights Coaches.
PTS Group applied for a standard international public service vehicle operator’s licence authorising seven vehicles. Matthew Wright remains Director of the business, and the proposed Transport Manager was a Carl Joseph Crysell. On the new application, there was one proposed operating centre at Unit 10, Tilia Business Park, Hoveton, and preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) were planned to be carried out by Drurys Vehicle Services at six-weekly intervals.
The applicant gave undertakings relating to the type of vehicle to be operated under any operator’s licence and to maintain a list of vehicles with the Licensing Team of the Office of the Traffic Commissioner, as well as regular brake testing.
