Herefordshire Council has awarded a contract to Sargeants Brothers to operate a number of temporary bus services in Hereford from Tuesday 4 January to ensure the continuation of essential services, and will reinstate buses for Belmont and the Royal National College for the Blind following the withdrawal of services for these locations in September. Sargeants’ existing route A will also provide an essential link between the Tesco city bus station and Tupsley for pupils travelling to Bishops School.
Matt Evans, Sargeants Brothers Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted to tell customers in Hereford about these changes. It means residents and visitors will still be able to make their journeys, as well as new connections for our existing customers. We have been working very closely with Herefordshire Council to ensure network continuity and we’ve been pleased to be able to step in and support the local community and keep bus links in place across Hereford.”
Sargeants Brothers has been operating buses in Herefordshire for 65 years. Using a recently modernised fleet of 26 buses, it also provides essential school transport for the local communities.
