GERMANY Setra has delivered new coaches with spacious 2+1 seating to two operators in Germany. A pair of new S 516 HDH high-floor tri-axle coaches have been delivered to König’s Reisen in Rhineland-Palatinate, whilst fellow operator Geldhauser from Bavaria has acquired four coaches with what Setra says is a space-saving seating variant.
With the arrival of its coaches, König’s Reisen now has 10 Setra TopClass coaches in its fleet, all equipped with exclusive 2+1 seating and glass roofs. The company says its fleet of the 30-seat coaches are the largest fleet in Germany with such seating. The coaches are also fitted with a camera mirror system for increased efficiency, and are powered by Daimler’s OM 471 engine rated at 350kW/476hp.
Meanwhile, the four ComfortClass S 516 HD/2 coaches for Geldhauser feature just 27 seats to expand its Premium-Plus travel programme. The four two-axle vehicles are also fitted with a glazed roof and have free WiFi access plus kitchens at the rear with two coffee makers, a refrigerator, dishwasher and convection oven.
Founded in 1962, the Bavarian-based Geldhauser Group employs around 900 people and operates a fleet of over 675 vehicles.
