We take a look at some of the new metal on the roads sporting the latest ‘25’ registration plates

The first day and first weeks of March saw a large number of new coaches and buses hitting the roads around the UK adorned with the first 2025 ‘25’ year registration plates. From humdrum fleets to special anniversary vehicles, the new coaches and buses will be the pride of fleets across the country. It’s great to see them out and about. We’ve had a fantastic response to our request to share your new deliveries with us, so let’s take a look at some of them in this week’s specially extended Deliveries pages; head over to our Facebook page and keep your eye out for next week’s issue to see more.

Manchester-based Belle Vue is no stranger to the pages of CBW, and has recently taken delivery of a further pair of new coaches for its Flixbus work. The operator’s Flixbus supervisor Ryan Ferries took delivery of the coaches from Pelican Yutong’s Simon Collins. BELLE VUE

“We’ve recently added two brand-new 25-plate Scania Touring coaches to our fleet, both 59-seaters. These coaches come fully equipped with air-conditioning, toilet, seat tables, USB ports, a TV/DVD system, and a PA system, making them perfect for both long and short journeys. The comfort, reliability, and build quality are exactly what we were looking for, and our drivers have been especially impressed with how smooth they are on the road,” says Astons Coaches. “We purchased them through Scania UK, as we have a great working relationship with Richard Austin there, so when the time came to upgrade our fleet, we knew we were in good hands. The process was seamless, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision.” ASTONS COACHES

Shetland operator J&DS Halcrow has taken delivery of two new Alexander Dennis Enviro200 buses, which will be used on local services, including the key route from the island’s capital Lerwick to Sumburgh Airport at the southern tip of Shetland’s mainland. Partner Jamie Halcrow said: “The Enviro200 has proven itself to be a very capable and eff icient performer on our scheduled bus routes across Shetland, so it was an easy decision to return to Alexander Dennis for another two buses which have joined two similar examples of the current model in our fleet and will replace two of our earlier-model Enviro200s. It gives us a great combination of passenger capacity and manoeuvrability on the island’s roads.” ALEXANDER DENNIS

Wishaw-based JMB Travel says it is excited to have invested in a new, specially-branded bus for its recently-launched Glasgow Fast X1 service. The new Volvo MCV Evora entered service at the beginning of March and is bigger than the buses already in use on the route, providing useful extra capacity on busy journeys. ”We’d like to thank everyone who has used the service and look forward to welcoming more new customers on board soon,” the company said.
