After the wet weather meant that much of the planned parking area was unusable, and with external considerations to take into account, Showbus will take place much earlier next year. EMILY WHITLAM

After the pre-Showbus rain affected the 2024 display at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre (see last week’s issue for the full details), the events organisers say they had a ‘serious debate’ as to whether the event should be moved to the summer, but that ultimately their hands were forced by outside events. Ongoing railway work north of Quainton towards Bicester mean a key road will be closed from 1 August, they say, potentially forcing all Showbus traffic through Quainton village, news which organisers say caused much displeasure to local residents. “We know the majority favour a late September Showbus,” the event’s organisers say, “but for 2025 that will not be possible at our new venue, so Showbus 2025 will be on Sunday 13 July.”
