Organiser Martin Isles said: “Since last year, a new company has taken over managing the Donington site, and I get the impression that they are not that enamoured with buses, so this may be the last Showbus there.”
This, Martin added in an email to participants, was ‘a shame.’
“The site is excellent and we used it effectively last year and hope to this year,” he said.
Showbus is taking place at Donington on 30 September. Martin said that the venue for 2019 would be announced in early October.
Including this year’s event, three Showbuses will have taken place at Donington and event sponsors have included Arriva.
Anniversaries being celebrated are 50 years since the formation of British Leyland and Bristol’s 110th anniversary.
There will also be a special display of Metrobuses to mark 40 years since the type first entered service. More details at: www.showbus.com
