Go-Ahead subsidiary East Yorkshire is preparing for the relaunch of a number of summer favourites for 2022. The Coaster service is set to resume its summer timetable from 5 March offering buses on the coastal route between Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough. The operator promises that this year it’ll be ‘better than ever before,’ with a new route which will take passengers down to Scarborough’s seafront. The open-top Beachcomber Scarborough seafront open-top service returns from early April, following a successful 2021 season which East Yorkshire said was one of the busiest years it had seen on the route between the town’s North and South Bays despite the pandemic. The service will resume on 9 April, whilst the following day the operator’s Sunday buses on route 14 to Flamborough and North Landing will start again for the season, as well as extra evening journeys every day all summer.

The operator’s coaching division has also unveiled its programme of days away and holidays for 2022. The first day trips will be during the local half term in late February, with prices from £15, whilst holidays and city breaks will include Sussex, the Chelsea Flower Show, the Edinburgh Tattoo, Bath, and a Lochs and Whisky tour to Scotland.

The operator has also teamed up with the local NHS and East Riding of Yorkshire Council to provide free travel to vaccination appointments for passengers bearing proof of the appointment.

East Yorkshire’s coastal and open top services will resume in March and April, and it is running a series of day trips, city breaks and holidays throughout the year. EAST YORKSHIRE
