Skills Group has been on the up-and-up since its inception in 1919. Madaline Dunn spoke to Paul Owen, Marketing Executive to discuss the company’s recent win at the UK Coach Awards and find out how the company has managed to sustain success for a century

Skills of Nottingham started off as Skills Motor Coaches, in Radford, Nottingham way back in 1919. Founded by Arthur Skill, the company found its feet with an ex-World War ambulance, which Arthur initially used to ferry about fish, before going on to transport coal miners to the local pit in Bestwood Colliery. In 1921, he purchased the company’s first bus, a Crossley Charabanc, and the rest, as they say, is history…
