  • Thanks to the snow, this Optare Solo was going nowhere on March 2, all services being suspended. Tanat Valley Coaches driver Mark Hughes took the photo at the Welsh operator’s Llanrhaeadr-Ym-Mochnant depot

  • The impact of snow is clear on this Rosso Wrightbus-bodied Volvo B7RLE. Ben Gleeson, who took the photo on March 1, told CBW: “This bus was working the 435 Rochdale to Buckstones route, but was forced to terminate at Broad Lane as snow drifts closed the road.”

  • “It’s a Yutong snow plough,” quipped Bretherton’s Jon Paul when he submitted this photo. The Yutong TC9 was caught on camera on Friday near the family-run operator’s depot in Chipping, Lancashire
  • In falling snow on February 26, Marshalls of Sutton-on-Trent driver Dan Maidment captured this picture postcard scene in Elston, Newark. The Optare Solo is seen working route 91, which links Newark with Bingham
  • Scott Cooper of Middlesborough operator Stagecarriage took this photo of a Mercedes-Benz Citaro at the firm’s depot in Teesport on February 28 before service that morning. Scott said: “The screen is showing our new part route destination hastily programmed before it left as the route was curtailed due to the snow!”
  • Karl Wilton took this photo of an Arriva North West Wrightbus Pulsar II-bodied VDL. In his own words: “Challenging days like today is exactly why I joined the bus industry. That reason? To keep local bus services running (as good as possible), ensuring people get to their destination, close liaison with depot duty supervisors, and our social media department keeping social feeds updated for both passengers and staff. ‘The Beast from the East’ certainly didn’t stop the ‘beasts’ here in the North West!”
