Bus operators that normally go all out to celebrate Christmas have had to scale down their festive special services this year due to social distancing, but there have still been some buses specially decorated and various socially distanced fundraising events have taken place. Richard Sharman looks at what some of the major bus groups have been doing in the lead up to Christmas

Drivers at First South Yorkshire dressed up to drive the Santa Bus to raise money for Action for Children. FIRST

Oxford Bus Company’s Wrightbus Gemini 2 196 carried out its first duties with its new owners during the Christmas Lights Festival in November and was back out again in December to tour the companies operating area and deliver presents to children with the help of Keen Oxford, Yellow Submarine and Mencap. Go Cornwall Bus toured its operating area with half-top ADL Enviro400 469, the bus was fitted with LED floor and side lighting and a snow machine were fitted on the upper deck. GCB
