Sardinia’s largest public transport company ARST has ordered 100 low-emission Urbino 12 hybrid buses from Solaris, which will join many other Solaris products on the Italian island. The new hybrid buses will be delivered in 2024. They will be fitted with a new generation hybrid drive system consisting of a 250kW electric motor and an internal 150kW EuroVI combustion engine.
The buses will have a two-door layout and feature air conditioning and USB sockets as well as a passenger counting system located above each door. Solaris has already sold more than 1,500 vehicles in the Italian market, of which around a third are zero-emission electric buses or trolleybuses.
