ISRAEL Solaris has been present in the Israeli market since 2012 and to date it has delivered nearly 200 city and intercity buses. All contracts have been concluded in cooperation with local importer, United Bus Services Nazareth.

At the end of 2015 Solaris won further major orders for a total of 110 buses. The first of three contracts relates to the delivery of 60 Urbino 12s to one of the largest bus operators in Israel, DAN from Tel Aviv.

The second agreement covers the supply of 30 Urbino 12s to the second largest company in Israeli, Egged, which is active not only in its home market, but also abroad. These vehicles are mainly to serve routes in Tel Aviv. However, they might also appear on the streets of Jerusalem.

Last but not least comes an order from Afifi Group of Nazareth for 10 InterUrbino intercity buses and 10 low-floor Urbino 12s. According to these three contracts all 110 buses will be delivered to customers between March and May 2016.

“In recent years Israel has grown to be one of our most important foreign markets,” said Dr Dariusz Michalak, Deputy CEO of Solaris responsible for research and development. “This is also thanks to our local partner and distributor, United Bus Services Nazareth. We do not exclude, however, the future intensification of cooperation with other companies from Israel.”
