Latest order gives Specialist Leisure Group the ‘most modern fleet of touring coaches in the sector,’ according to CEO

Specialist Leisure Group (SLG) has placed an order for 29 brand-new Mercedes-Benz Tourismo M/2 coaches as part of its ongoing vehicle renewal programme.

Due for delivery in October and November 2019, 19 coaches will join the Shearings Holidays fleet and 10 will join the National Holidays fleet.

Like the 43 new coaches ordered last year, each vehicle will feature lateral movement seats to allow more ‘elbow room’ (the aisle seat can shift out into the aisle) plus additional impact protection technology, integrated satellite navigation systems and all terrain auto cruise control, which effectively allows the vehicle to provide the safest, smoothest and most consistent journey by ‘sensing’ road conditions, gradients as well as the presence of other road users.

The new coaches will also feature individual USB charging points and free WiFi, so customers can take advantage of SLG’s new free onboard entertainment system called ‘Roadshow.’

Richard Calvert, CEO at Specialist Leisure Group, commented: “This multi-million-pound order gives SLG the most modern fleet of touring coaches in our sector, maintaining its number one position as the UK’s largest escorted tours provider.

“It underlines our commitment to quality, modernisation and safety and we look forward to the new coaches being delivered later in the autumn.”
