A seasonal promotion, launched this June by Stagecoach East Midlands, offers Hull residents the opportunity to visit the city centre at a reduced cost in the evening.

The ‘Five for a Fiver’ promotion enables a group of five people to travel from anywhere in the Hull area into the city centre, after 1830hrs, at a total cost of £5. The offer also extends to the late night bus service available to 0100hrs on Saturday evenings and 2340hrs throughout the week.

Jon Donnelly, Commercial Manager for Stagecoach East Midlands, commented: “Hull residents wishing to take advantage of the longer days, lighter evenings and Hull’s exciting evening economy can travel into the centre this summer with their friends and family at a competitive price.

“Travelling by bus can be more convenient and takes away the concern of driving and parking in the evening, allowing residents to fully enjoy everything the city has to offer.”

Cllr Martin Mancey, Portfolio Holder with responsibility for transport, said: “Following the launch of the Summer in your City programme, which encompasses all the fantastic festivals and events taking place across the city, this is a great offer that the residents of the city can take advantage of.

“We want to encourage more people to use public transport so that they have the opportunity to enjoy the city centre’s unique leisure, retail and food offer.”

In addition to the ‘Five for a Fiver’ offer, Stagecoach also offers a ‘Nightrider’ ticket, costing £2.50 per person for unlimited travel after 1830hrs.
