New wireless mobile column lifts will help the company to upgrade its Winchester and Guildford workshops

Stagecoach has invested in a new set of Stertil-Koni’s wireless mobile column lifts as part of a workshop upgrade for its bus depot in Winchester. The company has also purchased two additional sets of column lifts for its Guildford depot. The operator has been working with lift specialist Stertil-Koni since 2005, and says that its column lifts offer numerous benefits, including being easy to reposition to quickly adjust the workshop layout for different tasks or requirements, and for their fast lifting and lowering which helps to boost productivity and reduce vehicle downtime.

The cable-free design of the ST1075FWA column lifts ordered for the Winchester depot allows technicians to quickly set up the lifts without connecting cables, streamlining workflow and saving valuable time and effort, as well as allowing complete and safe access around vehicles, allowing
for inspections and repairs without any hindrances.

Each of the mobile columns offer a lifting capacity of 7.5 tonnes, providing an overall safe lifting capacity of 30 tonnes for the set of four individual lifts. The mobile columns incorporate Stertil-Koni’s ebright Smart Control System, allowing workshop engineers to operate the columns individually, in pairs, or in any other combination, and from any column in the set.

Featuring full-colour touch screen consoles, the manufacturer says its ebright Smart Control System has been designed and developed to simplify operation by providing maximum visual information about every lifting operation at the fingertips of the workshop engineers. The lifts are powered by long-life deep cycle batteries which provide optimum performance for at least a week on average before recharging is necessary, according to the manufacturer, whilst battery life is prolonged because, unlike a screw-lift, power is only used to raise a vehicle, meaning that less time is spent recharging, which is carried out by plugging each individual lift into a 230v single phase supply.
