Stagecoach will open a new depot in Taffs Well, South Wales, later this summer, strengthening its presence in the area with operations running from five locations. The operator says the new depot will help it to enhance operations and provide the best working environment for its staff, whilst staff are expected to relocate from its existing Caerphilly depot either to the new Taffs Well depot or another Stagecoach depot in south-east Wales.
The operator is consulting with staff working at the Caerphilly site, which will close later this summer, when services transfer to the new Taffs Well depot.
Managing Director of Stagecoach South Wales Martin Gibbon said: “We’re pleased to announce we will soon be opening our new depot in Taffs Well. The new depot will enable us to upgrade our facilities for our driver and engineering colleagues, with spacious control and rest areas, as well as improved facilities.
As an operator, we’re excited about the new opportunities the Taffs Well depot will bring and are committed to supporting our colleagues to bring them along on this journey with us.” In addition to relocating the existing staff, Stagecoach says it will be recruiting new staff to join its 800-plus colleagues across the region.
