Stagecoach Yorkshire has launched a fleet of seven new buses in Chesterfield as part of a £700,000 investment.
The Enviro200 MMC single-deckers will operate between Chesterfield and Clay Cross on Service 54, a popular commuter route.
In a first for Stagecoach buses in Chesterfield, the vehicles will provide passengers with free on-board USB charging points. The new buses also have free WiFi, high back two-tone leather seats and Euro 6 engines.
Service 54 operates via Hasland, Grassmoor and North Wingfield.
Matt Davies, Managing Director of Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: “The 54 is a popular commuter route, which has seen significant growth in recent years, so we are delighted to be able to introduce these industry-leading buses on this service as part of our commitment to continued investment.
“Many passengers use the service to travel to and from work. Electronic devices such as mobiles and tablets are an ever increasingly important part of this commuter journey so we hope customers will benefit from the USB charging points, as well as free WiFi and the comfort of high back leather seats.”
