The North East operator has taken delivery of a further two coaches to add to its express service fleet

Ahead of the Easter break, Flixbus and operator partner Stanley Travel announced an increased collaboration from 17 April. The enhanced partnership delivers additional journeys on routes between Manchester, Leeds, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, and Newcastle, which increase to four departures per day each way.

Flixbus says the expansion reflects strong demand for its services in the north of England and the continued success of its collaboration with family-owned Stanley Travel, which was established in 1961 and joined the company’s UK network in 2023. Flixbus UK Managing Director Andreas Schorling said: “Stanley Travel has been a fantastic operator since day one, frequently receiving excellent customer ratings and reviews. Our partnership has gone from strength to strength, and we are delighted to be growing our network with the Scott family, with whom we have built a great personal relationship.”

Two new Yutong GT12 coaches will be added to the operator’s fleet, and arrived in time for the busy Easter weekend travel period. Andrew Scott, Director at Stanley Travel, added: “Flixbus values very much align with our own, in terms of family culture, growth, and capitalising on opportunities. It’s been a fantastic two years together, so growing our business once again with Flixbus was a natural choice for our long-term success.”

Andreas concluded: “This expansion is yet another example of how Flixbus is delivering on its promise of building the largest coach network in the UK. We are excited to see our collaboration with Stanley Travel continue to thrive, as we offer more services and greater connectivity to passengers across the North.”
