Two celebrations saw classic buses on the road in Stevenage recently, reports Nick Larkin

Classic bus types recently returned to Stevenage for a double commemoration. Firstly, this year marks half a century since the highly innovative Superbus network was introduced, and secondly of Stevenage’s legendary bus station. An important part of Britain’s first pedestrianised shopping development and opened in 1958, it is set to be demolished this year in favour of a £5m new development nearby.
