Switch Mobility welcomed Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves and Shadow Secretary of State for Transport Louise Haigh to its headquarters in Yorkshire on Friday 10 December to demonstrate how zero-emission buses can contribute in the transition to a ‘green’ economy.

Switch Vice Chairman and CEO Andy Palmer showcased the technology and manufacturing processes that go into producing net zero carbon electric vehicles, explaining why it’s important to consider more than just zero tail-pipe emissions when procuring electric vehicles. Switch has supported the rollout of electric buses in the UK since placing the first British-built electric bus on London’s roads in 2014.

Andy commented: “Switch Mobility is a significant employer within Yorkshire and investment in UK bus manufacturers is vital if we are to continue to support local jobs and local suppliers. With our net zero electric buses, Switch is well positioned to support the transition to a truly green economy and it’s important we demonstrate that UK manufacturers have the capabilities to help this move.”
