James Day speaks to ViaVan CEO, Chris Snyder, about the app-based ridesharing service which was recently brought to London
The Via brand has been cropping up regularly in recent months. The technology forms the basis of both the ArrivaClick demand-responsive service in Sittingbourne and now Liverpool, along with Oxford Bus Company’s PickMeUp service. Via’s complex algorithms help to manage these services, optimising the routes the vehicles take to keep seats full while ensuring journey times are kept short and convenient.
The company has partnered with Mercedes-Benz Vans to form ViaVan, an Uber rival which it claims places a greater emphasis on ride sharing. The partnership has launched in a number of cities around the world, and entered the London market at the beginning of April, 2018.
